A quick stop in Tulum
We checked out the ruins and hung out on the beach on our two day stop in Tulum after the 11 hour bus ride from Palenque.
The public beaches close to the ruins had a much nicer and more relaxed vibe compared to the fancy hotel area further south. The whole beach seemed to have a bit of a problem with seaweed washing up on the shores, and despite a large effort to get rid of it, there was quite a lot of it in the water and on the beaches. But the beaches are still beautiful, long stretches of the whitest most powdery sand imaginable dotted with shading palm trees.
Tulum was quite busy now in January with lots of people from the US.
We might come back here later and stay a bit longer, next time on the beach instead of in town.
