A home visit at Frida Kahlo´s
Ever since I saw Frida Kahlo´s work in my teens I have loved it. Deciding to go to see her house in Mexico City was a no-brainer! We went on a Saturday and the cue was around 45 minutes, and it was worth it.
The house where Frida Kahlo (and her husband Diego Rivera) lived was well kept and obviously well designed with a pretty patio. Frida Kahlo, often stuck in her wheelchair due to a car accident and many operations, created her work there. Her art reveals her pains and emotional distress in surrealist means. Her self-portraits are nakedly honest. The house did not have any of her most famous works, but some unfinished early work. A link to some of her other artwork.
