Monte Albán is a historical site of an ancient city in southern Mexico in the Oaxaca state. Its was populated approximately between 500 BC to 600 AD and was an important city in the region. The city was in contact with the powerful city of Teotihuacán. The Zapotecs inhabited the city of Monte Albán, and the real name of the city is today unknown. The setting is high above the sea level, on a hill and artificial terraces surrounded by valleys and mountains. I am so glad we decided to go to Monte Albán. Even though we didnt have time to study much about its history and there was not much to read at the spot, the place was magical to visit. The dry grass and the sunlight gave a golden shimmer to everything and the location was impressively grand!
