Wolaba festival in Puerto Viejo
We happened to arrive in Puerto Viejo just in time for the yearly Wolaba parade and festival, where everyone in the town and nearby comes to celebrate during the whole weekend in Casa de la cultura and the local bar at heart of the town. The aim of the celebration is to honor the afro-caribbean heritage. We attended a movie screening of the local new production Dos Aguas, full of local actors and scenery. We were also lucky to see the actual parade and some music performances. These were just a fraction of the range.
The town of Puerto Viejo was utterly lively and warm this weekend, perfect start for us staying here for more than one month!
Enjoy the pictures of the parade, reality was even more lively!
